Further to our recent communication regarding the UK Clinical Ethics Network Conference in Cardiff we are also pleased to announce that the Institute of Medical Ethics <http://www.instituteofmedicalethics.org/> (IME) has kindly coordinated the timing a conference of its own to take place on the day after the UKCEN Workshop and Conference (Thursday, 24th June 2010), likewise in Cardiff. We think that there will be a considerable number of people, for whom the chance to combine these two conferences / workshops will make an attractive package. A key aim of this second conference is to foster and facilitate a sense of community between teachers of medical ethics and law and to support learning, especially in undergraduate medical ethics. The theme of this second conference will be closely related: Teaching and the patient who lacks capacity - Is it ethical? Is it legal? There is no charge for this conference. The IME is very keen to welcome clinical and non clinical teachers of ethics and law. Places are limited to a maximum of 60. Please book via the IME / Institute of Medical Ethics <http://www.instituteofmedicalethics.org/> website. Further details can be obtained from Elaine Paris, Joint Project Manager, IME Education Project: educational@instituteofmedicalethics.org
