Range of functions carried out by CECs
The functions of clinical ethics committees can be divided into three broad areas, although the focus of work varies between committees. The areas covered are:
Provision of ethics input into Trust policy and guidelines
Support for health professionals in individual cases
Facilitation of ethics education for health professionals and other NHS Trust staff
