Dr Vic Larcher

Dr Vic Larcher Consultant Paediatrician and Associate Director of Children's Services at the Royal London Hospital with especial interest in child protection. Honorary Senior Lecturer and Fellow in the Department of Human Science and Ethics at Queen Mary Westfield College London. Developed an interest in Medical Ethics and Law and co-founded the Clinical Ethics Committee at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and is a member of the CECs at the Royal London and GOSH. Chair of the GOSH Research Ethics Committee. Member of the Ethics Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and part of the team which produced the original "Withholding/withdrawing life saving treatment in children" document in 1997 and its revision in 2004. Published on various aspects of Ethics of paediatric practice e.g. palliative care. Specific interests include the practical provision and assessment of Clinical Ethics Support Services and involvement of children in decision making.
